Garota do Brasil

NcIt is amazing and fascinating at the same time to compare cultural differences when browsing through international magazines, such as Vogue. Take the UK edition and the Brazilian one and you see the difference.
Here in Brazil Vogue has some editorial tradition: April to Sept the magazine is all about the winter and summer collections, August dedicated to luxury, March about Jeans, May is the anniversary edition. February though is a very special month, the Vogue Autor, when they select a testimonial with a big part of the magazine and advertising dedicated to that personality. I have seen Dorival Caymmi, Caetano Veloso, Paulo Atran, Gilberto Gil, Burle Max, Jorge Amado in past editions. This year it is Naomi Campbell, declared a Garota do Brasil. And she has some special affection for Brazil, coming down frequently. The pics of Gui Paganini, the setting on a farm in Alagoas and her  - just stunning!! Sugar and Favelas (hope you understand my allusion).

China surpassing...

the UK and France with the numbers of its GDP disclosed for 2005: a total of USD 2,3 trillion makes the Chinese economy rank 4th after the US, Japan and Germany. A spectacular growth rate of  9,9 % compared to the previous year.
And Brazil? Position 11 in the global ranking with a GPD of USD 789 billion.

Gates and Sugar

Yesterday I wrote about Google and Sugar. Seems that Larry and Sergey are not the only ones interested in promising investments and in the Brazilian alcohol indstry. Bill Gates is also in it. His investment company Cascade Investment is major shareholder of Pacific Ethanol, which is looking at expanding their businesses in ... Brazil! If you want to google after Bill´s investments, somebody did that for you already: Bill Gates and his companies.

MoBlog

Brazilian Operator Vivo launched a mobile blog. Brazil is not as behind as you imagine!! All which is missing here is "mobile deluxe" as far as mobile content is concerned.

BRIC

Seems that we are in the right place, Fabian. Global CEO´s still and again have Brasil on their roadmap. Brasil - não mais um pais do futuro, do PRESENTE, we make it happen!!!!
