Image campaigns and toilet walls

Just wrote this morning about (the impact) on blogging and Brazil and now... becoming aware what is happening in Good Old Germany. After I came back to Brazil main news where complaints about the cold, but nossa amigos... I guess I really missed something. Compare webblogs to toilet walls on the internet, 30 million Euro image campaignes for a country à la US style?
How are German expats in Brazil feeling about that? Really strange, believe me. But I agree with Jens, I am proud to be part of the Klowaende des Internet.

"Du bist Deutschland" - "You are Germany"  or how an internal email of the head of an PR agency made it rank top of the searches on Technorati but did not fight grumpyness.

Blogging Brazil

We alll heart about the Orkut phenomenon in Brazil, the rising number of Brazilian blogs. Now business magazine Exame caught up on the topic in their lastest magazine. And Tecnorati and Ibope/Nielsing reveal some interesting numbers:
- About 34 million blogs are existing in the world.
- 70.000 new blogs are created every day.
- The blog audience surpassed 50 millon people, 11% or internet users.
- 37% of all internet users in Brazil are reading blogs regularly.
- Brazilians spend 20% of their online/navegating time with visiting blogs and virtual communities.
Whereas in the US topics like politics and IT seem to to dominate the blogs, Brazilian blogs are about humour, fun and entertainment.
Claro que sim ;-)

MoBlog

Brazilian Operator Vivo launched a mobile blog. Brazil is not as behind as you imagine!! All which is missing here is "mobile deluxe" as far as mobile content is concerned.
